My excitement as i payed a visit to Salvatore di Francisca at the Village Market- Nbi Kenya, for my Television Recording was unfathomable!!! I had longed to do a feature on Italian Art especially fashion! Italy is a country synonymous with finesse.. Italian Luxury goods are re-known for the high quality of their own textiles, the perfect elegance and refinement that goes into making them. Many a time, we have watched movies and video portrayals of the famous Italian Jobs!
The welcome was without a doubt exciting!
And true to that, the moment you enter Salvatore de Francisca's premise you have a rich sense you are in Italian Territory! From the shelves, to the furniture to the coffee making machine! (I mean, of-course! Italians love their coffee!!!)
After such a great welcome, we were ready to roll the cameras away with our host Mr. Amin Premji- C.E.O Salvatore di Francisca.
First things first, he let us know that Salvatore de Francisca was a brand for men who constantly challenge themselves, who are always on the look out for something better! Little wonder then some of the suits here go for 20,000 Euros!!!! This is particularly true as the materials used are of the finest quality as we got to find out.
But how do you know whats real and whats not? It was interesting to learn that it can be told from the ironing. If the material does not shine, this would mean its of superior quality! Mmh good to know!
As we continued capturing all of these Italian gems, I couldn't help but play that track by Jidenna on my head! Haha Yup! We all know it! ;) And with good reason, as he continued to explain to us the genuineness and finesse of the suits, as they are all be-spoke.Be-spoke? Yes!!! Be-spoke.... A tailor comes from Italy, meets the client, gets to know what he wants, goes back to Italy and makes the suit! After everything is done to perfection, the tailor comes back for the ultimate fitting to make sure its done to its finality!
And whats such a finely done look without accessories?.. Not to worry, everything is in the house!
